At 2500ft you have stupendous views across to the Andes. A visiting soil expert had just announced that the vineyard soils up here are just like “the Hill of Hermitage”. The vines are still young but the elevation and coolness up here means greater colour and deeper, more concentrated wines. Luis Felipe reckons he will make Chile's best wine here. He could well be right. His inky black Malbec is a wine to take on the Argentineans at their own game.
