...when every year the road in front of Le Chai becomes a 'Vide Grenier' (loft emptying or Car Boot to us). In the hot sun those guys are earning the hard way. I get a couple of old postcards of Castillon. Never thought I'd say this but it's too hot to drink. Till tonight anyway.
At the Comptoir de St Genes - which as usual has a good sprinkling of Brits tonight - a lot of them Laithwaites people on their two week stint at Le Chai. Anne-Marie opens bottles of from the Chateaux we visited earlier in the week and lines them up on the bar. That's a great idea. We should do it more often. It’s the best way to get Castillon wines better known.
