Castillon

Too hot to move. Except in the cool Chai and the even cooler caves beneath La Clariere. So it was a real pleasure to do a couple of guided tours for visitors.

Evening - when the sun sets - 'Fête Nocturne' in Flaujagues the next village upriver, south bank. We love these things. They are increasingly popular. Consist of a lot of trestle tables and stalls selling food of all different kinds; steak, sausage, chicken, magrets, mussels, paella, crepes and of course plenty of local wines.

So you just sit, wander about, buy, eat. The start again. Several times. Then there's dancing. Traditional stuff. Something you wouldn't want to do sober but... the wine makes it all very convivial.
