Sorry to bore. It's only because I promised the Web Boss to do a diary every day.
I said there'd be boring days and there have been.
But.... finally holidays are ending.
So should liven up.
Jean-Marc turned up yesterday. Shouldn't have. But missed another plane. That's his weakness; missing planes. Stranded. With 3 children!
So we sat in the Chai with Mark and discussed vintage plans. Should kick off next week. Excitement can be detected.
The Flying Winemakers have arrived. Maitena from San Sebastian - she did 2005 for us - and James from New Zealand. Jane Hunter's nephew. Jane herself is coming to stay in a few weeks.
We sampled a few Chai things; The Côte Rotie and the Condrieu were both partic excellent. Mark v. proud. He grilled some duck hearts. But then got too animated ...and burnt the chicken.
