Getting up in the dark; must be the end of summer. Going into Gatwick feels like Back to School (having managed to avoid airports all summer).
Last night's tasting at The Arch was for the Bank HSBC. Did my old 'how to Taste Wine Routine' but got the feeling most didn't need much teaching. Three won the Guess-the-Wine prize. Expensive evening!
The wines on taste were:
Cloudy Bay Pelorus
Trapiche Broquel Torrontes
Felsner Gruner Veltliner
Back Shed Shiraz Grenache
Esprit des Parettes Bourgogne Blanc
Danfords Cabernet Merlot
Appasionata del Antica Bottega
And the mystery Wine was ... Gunboat Pinot Noir. So here we are hurtling around the Bordeaux Ring Road and over the Garonne.
About to see - taste - what Mother Nature has given us this year. Can't wait!
