Final, final moment of the 2010 vintage for me. This is the volunteer picking team at Wyfold on Sunday the 17th October. A bunch of very good friends put in a morning's hard work for which Barbara and Cherry are EXTREMELY grateful. The weather held. Frost in the morning but bright sun. Big 'phew' moment for the girls (foreground).

Amazingly - given our wet summer - there was a very manageable amount of rot...pickers were able to flick off the dodgy grapes. Ian Dunn (known to millions at Laithwaites wine events) was at another English vineyard yesterday and said our fruit just looked so much healthier...so well done B and Cherry (who has been clucking over her grapes like a mother hen these last weeks). And especially our Lee on the tractor. 2010 easily the best ever vintage in this particular vineyard.
