Michael who lives in the grounds of Windsor Castle. And the Castle - the Lower Ward (we know our place) - has been a customer since the early seventies. Michael helped us pick for a while, then provided me with a good excuse to escape and give him a tour.
Then, a film crew turned up to complicate things so I didn't really get back to harvesting. Hugh Johnson's son, Red was helping us gather harvesting etc images. So with Michael playing the 'customer' role we did La Clariere and the Chai au Quai before harvester lunch. (Duck sausage).
Then they filmed us sorting. Doing our little sorting-dance.
Afterwards, we covered the countryside of Castillon which I adore. Bosky Arcadia sort of thing. And it is looking just splendid right now, vine leaves going red and gold. We get Anne-Marie to come with us in case anyone gets upset at the cameras. But not necessary. They love their 'pays' being filmed here.
We finished at magnificent Monbadon - a classic Norman fortress. We are filming - all C13th - when a very C21st harvester like something from a Transformers film cuts right across the scene...just feet away. Serendipity.. Castillon Ancient and Modern.
Beers at Anne-Marie's Comptoir then a chicken dinner at home.
