Back from French vintage to....English vintage.

The weather held off just long enough for Cherry and Barbara to get in their Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes. Large numbers of villagers, friends and Laithwaites people roped in for 3 or more hours hard labour in return for a glass of the Wyfold 2006 Sparkler (only available from the vineyard.. £17.99 a bottle), a gorgeous mouthful of fine bubbles after a hard morning's work, even if served in plastic. Plus hot soup, cold lunch. Looking happy here because it's almost over.
