Today we got everyone off the phones at Le Chai for an hour or so (calls re-routed to Theale) to give us a hand harvesting. They came very willingly.
Weather good. Nice to be outside. So we had the biggest team ever and got a lot picked. We sorted it all that afternoon. So have been given tomorrow off. Partly due to the continuing good weather and Henry wanting to get maximum maturity. The colour is amazing this year. Last year was great. But this year the grape skins just seem to bleed the minute you touch them.
Anyway that's four days hard harvesting. Ache all over. Now apparently we are to stand down till after the weekend.

Tony, thank you for your letter welcoming me to your wine club. Your letter para 7 mentions that you have appointed Justin Howard-Sneyd, then a few lines later you invite us to "give Len a call."
