Sunday. Woke in Ste Colombe, worrying about the Irene.

Where is she? Is she OK? The marine tracker website shows nothing!!! So text Mark. Nothing. Worry more. Then he replies they are past Nantes. Wow! Going some! Then there's a prob with rigging. They are going to put into Belle Isle for repairs.

After some gardening, we go to Bergerac for the flight home.

Monday. Up for a vineyard planting. The planter on its Unimog and its German/Polish crew trundle up and down. All GPS laser exact. Amazing. Sun shines until most of the chardonnay is in when whoosh … sudden downpour. Vines nicely watered in.

Henry and I pop the remaining vines over to Will's coldstore at his brewery. Very useful. The little things are beginning to sprout.

Jean-marc phones from Bordeaux to say it’s 32 degrees and the vines in Pomerol are flowering already … about a month early. This rate we'll be harvesting in August.
