Diary - home

Catch up. After all the excitements of old ships, new vineyards and endless meetings, last week, it was head down and just write, this week. That's my real job, after all.

Delicious interlude was a day at Raymond Blanc's cookery school (my birthday pressie from Barbara). They kit you out in the full Le Manoir rig but ask you to behave because the guests might think you were a real chef! They do; I was asked where the dining room was and photographed by some Japanese in the vegetable garden!

We were not full chefs, even by the end. I was just happy to have cooked all day and not cut myself once. I can now poach a great egg and make a strawberry mousse with no cream in it.

What else?

A trip to Brighton for dinner with our Accounts Team and never mind the ho-ho-ho, yes, it was, in fact, a great evening. Just because they can do sums doesn't mean they are dull. Accountants can now come in very attractive formats.

An evening with customers at Windsor Shop failing to beat Clair Lou in a taste off.

A day with all my shop managers up at The Arch … being revved-up by Susan from Selfridges our new pocket dynamo Shops and Events supremo. Expect to see a difference or two.

That's it. Plus the writing. I'm having lessons on How to Tweet, today!

My debut into this new medium last week got me four followers. So lessons ARE needed. Could mean my blogs will get a lot shorter!
