The Show

Survived! Survived well. I was really delighted the way our London show at Vinopolis went. Smaller than the Show we put on last year at the Horticultural Hall (which was based on experience doing the Sunday Times Wine Club Vintage Festival there for thirty years) but better for that. It was easy to get round every stand and chat.

And having our permanent shop on the site simplified things a lot. We only had to open up the communicating door and wheel all the wine, tables etc in. So I'm going to ask John to look into doing more than one show a year here.

Customers clearly loved not just the show but having the amazing Borough Market just outside and such an array of reasonable places to eat afterwards. The Growers enjoyed the arches and the London Bridge area too.

Bill Calabria triumphed in the voting as he has so many times before but for me the big news was that not one but two German Rieslings got into the top 3. I think the long campaign to get people to forget Liebfraumilch and try the top-of-the-range Rieslings is finally, finally paying off.
