Laithwaite's Wines in Blooms, Solihull

No time to think, let alone blog. One big final push finishes UK harvest tomorrow morning. There've been big shows and dinners to do, all on top of the peak post-harvest buying and the peak pre-Christmas sales preparations.

On top of all our Helen has opened three new shops. All in Garden Centres: Marlow Garden Centre (SL7 3RB for the sat nav); Wyevale in Hare Hatch (RG10 9SW); and Blooms in Solihull (B92 0LP). I've always thought gardening + wine was a good combination. Like wine + music, wine + books, wine + cricket. We are finding out. Helen says:

“Garden Centres stock more than just plants these days. Books, food, even kitchens! And now you can buy your favourite Laithwaite's wines too. We have our own store within three garden centres, staffed by our own wine-loving team.

It has been a busy week, getting three stores set-up and opened. With over 50 pallets of stock and shelving to unpack, I used muscles I didn't know existed! Our new 'mini shops' stock 80 different wines and have wines to taste every day. They look great – good luck to Adam, Debbie and Simon, our new store managers.”
